Our pediatric patients ideally begin to visit us starting at around the age of 1. Early visits familiarize both baby and parent/caregiver with our team. They grow to know us and to trust us. We like to think that our patients look forward to seeing us! It’s not a “chore” to visit us, and our practice is certainly not a source of fear.

Supporting a healthy routine

Led by dentist Dr. Nathan Pfister, the Biodentist Alabama team also nurtures a healthy routine by using state-of-the-art technologies during regular checkups and treatments. For instance, for general dentistry procedures we are a proud “needle-free” practice. Needles are a typical “trigger.” Likewise, we have eliminated other standard dental instruments and techniques that contribute to dental anxiety and apprehension. These triggers include dental drills, cutting instruments (like scalpels), and scraping tools (like scalers).

Instead of these fear-inducing instruments, we use the following gentle and precise technologies to comfortably and conservatively maintain or restore our patients’ oral health:

Micro air abrasion – A micro-dentistry, heatless and noiseless alternative to drilling techniques
Laser dentistry – We use the likes of a Fotona Light Walker laser system to non-invasively remove decay without using traumatic drilling techniques.
Gentle, advanced diagnostics – Using a light-based cavity detection system, intraoral camera, cone beam CT scanner, digital x-rays, and an intraoral camera, we can accurately pinpoint problems early into the disease process and also in a non-invasive manner. Early detection supports prompt, effective, and non-traumatic treatment.

Dr. Brian Pfister

Dr. Brian Pfister was born and raised in Upland, CA. He attended Brigham Young University-Idaho, graduating with a degree in exercise physiology with a minor in chemistry. From Idaho, Dr. Brian returned to southern California to continue dental training at Western University College of Dental Medicine.
